TurboTax Online Income Tax Software Free Giveaway!

Now that the Canada Revenue Agency's NETFILE online tax submission service is open for business, it's time to start thinking of preparing a tax return for 2013 even though the deadline for submission is a distant April 30.

Thanks to TurboTax, I am giving away three codes for any online web version of their personal tax preparation software for Canadians. That's a value of $17.99 for the Standard version on up to $44.99 for the Home and Business version for contractors and consultants.

Here are the details of the giveaway:
  • To enter submit a comment on this post below - though you don't have to, I'd be interested in your comments on tax prep software since I am again working on my annual review of all the CRA NETFILE certified packages; use a unique name (Anonymous won't suffice!) so I can distinguish people
  • One entry per person please
  • Entries close Tuesday, February 18th midnight EST
  • I'll do a random draw of three (3) names from amongst the entries after the deadline
  • Winners will be announced on the blog and asked to contact me via email with their own email address so I can reply with the code to enter in the TurboTax tax software (your email will not be used for any purpose other than to contact you as a winner)
Good luck!

TurboTax is the most intuitive and easiest to use in my experience.

I've used Turbo Tax for several years. I do mine and my mother's income tax returns. This year will be my first year with an investment property, so I'm a bit more nervous about doing taxes than usual... We'll see how it goes.

I'd be thrilled to win a copy of Turbo Tax! Would make filing our tax returns a lot easier.

I have used U File the most, which seems identical to the HR Blocks simpler version. Have used Turbo Tax a long time ago, and was simple enough to use. Would love to give it a try again to see if it has made improvements..

I've used TurboTax for years as well, or whatever it was called before (Intuit?). I bought U File also one year for a working comparison. While numbers were the same, TurboTax is a nicer product. As for cost, even at $44, my wife reminds me it saves me an incredible amount of time over doing things manually - worth every penny. Best to try to save money elsewhere.

I have used uFile for years and found easy enough to use but may use TurboTax for comparision. Though you are giving away code for TurboTax which is your favorite one? In 2011 you gave more points to UFile.

Raj, I am testing all the online packages right now. Results in the next ten days or so.

I've been using TurboTax for years now. It's great, and gets easier year after year with submitting the previous year's return and easily choosing the deductions you qualify for!

Since I'm a Mac user, TurboTax web is really the only option that I'm aware of.

Simple, straightforward, has always been a pleasure to use.

I have been using UFile in the past 6 years. It's easy to use however, I do experience inaccuracy on my Tuition credit claims. Maybe it's time to try Turbo tax this year =)
