It would be a little odd to be a frugal blog and telling people how to be frugal and then asking them to contribute.Thicken My Wallethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10760590873687255498noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5433839636644874439.post-68191996189706764332010-02-16T17:38:02.880+00:002010-02-16T17:38:02.880+00:00Neil, don't have proof but I suspect you'r...Neil, don't have proof but I suspect you're right. It's the opposite of spending willy-nilly - the penny wise pound foolish danger that can happen when cost saving is taken to an extreme.CanadianInvestorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05645767559302303541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5433839636644874439.post-28487561027157465902010-02-16T15:31:34.934+00:002010-02-16T15:31:34.934+00:00I suspect the personal finance crowd is a more cha...I suspect the personal finance crowd is a more challenging one for things like this. I've heard some political and general interest bloggers make a fairly sizeable amount of money off of those Paypal "donate" links, so flattr just seems like a more price-controlled way to do that.

But in general finance readers of all kinds tend to be kind of stingy. I mean, we all want to get rich, right? So it seems like it's probably a crowd that is less likely sign up to give away money than your average internet user.Neilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07956214731551721276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5433839636644874439.post-77738591376237003082010-02-15T16:49:14.732+00:002010-02-15T16:49:14.732+00:00Hi Michael,

Putting myself in consumer shoes, I'd sign up to give away money in small doses and click on the coin icon when I saw a post I found worthwhile ... you'd get some clicks from me.CanadianInvestorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05645767559302303541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5433839636644874439.post-84299891629357132442010-02-15T14:48:17.984+00:002010-02-15T14:48:17.984+00:00The real test of this idea is how many people sign...The real test of this idea is how many people sign up to give away their money. I have no doubt that bloggers will sign up to accept money. Do you plan to sign up to accept Flattr money? Is that even possible yet?Michael Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10362529610470788243noreply@blogger.com
